Camp Health and Safety Rules
Campers are asked not to smoke in any tent, whilst preparing food or at food tables.

Naked lights should not be taken into tents in the form of matches, cigarettes, hurricane lamps or Tilley lamps. They are a fire hazard.

Axes and picks may only be used by people over 14, wearing boots.

Those responsible for First Aid must be informed of any illness or injury, however slight.

Swimming will be in organised groups, accompanied by appointed competent people.

Under 10s must be kept away from the kitchen, wood cutting area, stove and boiler. Anyone working in these areas is advised to have their feet and legs covered.

Over 11s may leave the campsite only in groups of three or more, after signing out, stating where they are going and when they intend to return. Additionally, at night after the evening meal, there will be a duty adult to whom such groups should report before leaving and after returning.

Who's who at camp?
We all know that everyone at camp needs to help out to make things happen. We're all part of a work team (if we are over 10 years old) and the day to day work of keeping campers fed and the campsite clean and safe doesn't happen unless we all put in some effort. Some people at camp are also given additional jobs so that we can do more than just exist together, so that we can build a community, have fun and take care of each other,

ELDERS
Elders are responsible for ensuring that we enjoy Camp within the spirit of our beliefs and make sure that the Meetings for Worship take place. They have a concern for the spiritual well-being of everyone at camp and will seek to make sure that everone can participate in and contribute to the spiritual life of camp. Elders meet together several times during camp.

OVERSEERS
We make sure that there is at least one overseer in each work group. Overseers ensure that all campers are warmly accepted into the community and that camp is enjoyable and fulfilling. Overseers take a keen interest in the well-being of those in their work groups, giving support when required, identifying problems before they become crises and generally being alert. Their responsibilities are for the whole of camp, not just their own group, and campers should feel able to approach any Overseer about problems. Overseers meet together several times during camp. All overseers over 18 must have a current CRB disclosure.

ACTIVITIES GROUP
The activities group is responsible for dreaming up a range of activities to involve all age groups and temperaments. This will include sport and theme-related activites, as well as possibly outings, entertainments and challenges. The group isn't espected to do it all, however so please share your ideas with then and help them organise things.

CO-CLERKS
The role of the Clerks is to make sure that things at camp happen, to communicate necessary information to all campers, to enable decision-taking to happen and to act as a focal point for camp. We have two Clerks working together for short periods of time so that they are supported and not over-burdened. If you have questions about camp, the Clerks should be able to help. Clerks are particularly responsible for the 'Signing-out' book and should try to know where everyone is. A Clerk's rota will be on the notice board.

CATERING
We have two quartermasters who are responsbile for ordering and ensuring a constant supply of food for us. They are the 'store tent controllers'. They will be working with the duty caterers. Somebody in each work team has been asked to be a duty caterer. When their team is on 'cooks duty' they will organise, chivvy and instruct the rest of the team, making sure that the right meals are provided at the right times in the right quantities.

EQUIPMENT
There is an equipment tent for storage and one or two people are charged with the job of looking after the equipment. They will be able to help you with tents, axes and anything else you might need during the course of camp.
