10th – 12th June

Luton & Leighton Summer Gathering for Learning

Subject: So many new terms and identities such as non-binary, trans, intersex and agender have become current over the past several years. This gathering aims to engage and learn about emerging sexual identities. How do we open our hearts and minds? Can we truly say we understand what all these new identities and directions mean?

The gathering also serves to allow friends in the Area Meeting to spend more time together, work together, eat together and form deeper and personal and spiritual connections. There will be plenty of time for conversation, laughing and singing.

This will be an event for all ages although many of the sessions will only be suitable for those 16 and over. Younger children will have activities.

Start & Finish: Starting late on the Friday afternoon. Exact time to be communicated near to the event. The event will close after lunch on the Sunday.

Accommodation: Friends are encouraged to spend as much time together over the weekend as possible. Friends can camp in the garden, sleep in the Meeting House, find private accommodation or be hosted by Watford Friends.

Food: All meals will be supplied, although we will ask Friends to help in the prep and cleaning up after meals.

Cost: We plan to set a fee to cover the costs of food and some travel costs for people supporting the event.

Booking: we plan to open booking after Easter, but Friends could note the dates in their diaries now.
